How much is the subsidy?

The subsidy amounts to 20 % of the total eligible costs (= labor costs excluding VAT) of a maximum of EUR 10.000 (in 2024) or EUR 7.500 (in 2025) per person and residential property. This means that the subsidy in 2024 is up to EUR 2.000 and in 2025 up to EUR 1.500. Only one funding application per person can be submitted per calendar year if the eligible costs per final invoice amount to at least EUR 250 (excluding VAT).

Example

A married couple living together in a detached house, have built a carport on their property in 2024. The net cost of the work amounts to EUR 6.000. The husband submits the invoice and is reimbursed EUR 1.200. This means that his wife can apply for a further amount of EUR 800 in funding for work at the same address in the calendar year 2024.

Combination with other subsidies

No other federal or state subsidies can be used for the work services applied for as part of the “Handwerkerbonus” subsidy campaign.
